Citibank Online Testing

Situational Analysis

Citibank China was rolling out a new online bank website and due to resource constraints called on Bleum to conduct the functional and performance testing of the system. While being deployed in China the system was being developed in India, which was placing a communication burden on Citibank's local team.

The Challenges

The biggest challenge of the project was that the stakeholders of the project were scattered across the globe. The online bank was being implemented for the local branch of Citibank, but was being developed in India and needed various approvals from people in the US. As a result of the distributed responsibilities for the system, the requirements documentation was incomplete. Finally, the product had an aggressive deployment schedule which meant that proper test preparation time was compressed.

Bleum Solution

• Bleum brought in a business analyst who worked with the local staff to collect and organize the requirements and quickly identify any gaps in documentation and fill them.
• Bleum's standard testing methodology was used to create test cases, prioritize functionality,and plan the execution of test cases.
• As functionality was validated by manual testers, Bleum's automated testers would begin building automated tests scripts so the test environment could be easily regression tested after the go-live date.
• Thorough load testing was done prior to launch to identify performance bottlenecks and server configuration issues.

Result

The system was launched on time and proved stable under commercial loads.
